Cranes united (3) - Buckhurst (2).

Cranes through to the third round of senior division league cup following a 3-2 win against Buckhurst Hill.

This was a very well contested game from both sides, however one side was focussed more on playing the opponents not the ball. This cost them dearly and cranes continued their cup run.

It was a 1:30pm kick off with third division cranes united in their yellow shirts and white shorts against the blue-black stripped opponents. The hosts kicked off and played some good football as they contested every first and second ball.

The visitors got into their strides as they resorted to the training regime of passing the ball and moving. They asserted their influence on the game and the ball was moving neatly through the park but the scores remained level due to the resilience and organisation of Buckhurst's back four.

At the half hour mark the first clear chance of the game fell to Eric Mbassa but blazed over the bar from 17yards. Cranes continued to push with some good stuff coming in from the left wing vai Carl powell and Fred kalyango. As the pressured piled on the back four it eventually paid off we

n one Carl pounced on a neat pass in the 16yard box to put the visitors ahead.

The hosts responded with an increased presence and pressure the forced a save from the cranes keeper. From the resulting corner luke pope equalised for the hosts as cranes failed to deal with the ball in the box.

Both teams held up the fight and continued to impress the fans as they went into half time all level.

At half time with both teams level and the both had to step up the game.

After the 45 minutes the two teams could not be separated, 1-1 was the score line. Please video below for half-time team talk.
